MODE OF EXAM: COMPUTER BASED TEST (CBT)

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi in collaboration with Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh will hold a National level on-line examination for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), for Indian National candidates at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi (NCR), Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Srinagar (J&K) as well as Varanasi on Sunday, July 12, 2020.

A total of 150 Fellowships would be awarded. 120 fellowships in the field of Biomedical Sciences with emphasis on Life Sciences (like microbiology, physiology, molecular biology, genetics, human biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, biophysics, immunology, pharmacology, nursing, zoology, botany, environmental sciences and veterinary Medicine (excluding Agriculture extension/ Soil Sciences, etc.) and thirty (30) fellowships for the work with a focus on Social Sciences like psychology, sociology, home science, statistics anthropology, social work, public health/health economics (agriculture economics will certainly not be taken into consideration). Reservation of seats for SC, ST, OBC, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) as well as Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category will certainly be according to Govt. of India rules.

Applicants may visit the web sites w.e.f. 27.04.2020. The last date for filling of online application is 27.05.2020. Only online application will certainly be accepted, no other mode of submission of application will be accepted.

Fee for ICMR-JRF Application

  • Rs.1500/- (General/EWS/OBC) + Transaction charges as applicable.
  • Rs. 1200/- (SC/ST) + Transaction charges as applicable.
  • PwBD exempted from payment of the fee.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification

MSc/MA or equivalent degree with minimum 55% marks for General/EWS/OBC candidates and also 50% for the SC/ST and PwBD candidates in the subjects mentioned above. Applicants appearing in the final year examination in the 2019-2020 session can also apply.

Age Limitation

The upper age limitation for admission to the eligibility test is 28 years as on 30-09-2020 (relaxable up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST, PwBD as well as female candidates as well as three years in the case of OBC).

Admit Card for ICMR-JRF Entrance Exam 2020

Candidates are intimated about the admit card through the email. Candidates have to go on the official website and click on the “Print Admit Card” link to access their respective hall tickets. After that, they have to enter the registration number and password to download the ICMR JRF admit card. Information about when to download the admit card is sent to the candidates via their registered email ID. Admit cards are issued 15 days before the conduction of the exam. Candidates have to carry the printed copy of the admit card at the exam center for verification.

ICMR JRF Entrance Exam 2020 Answer Key

Candidates can download the answer keys of ICMR JRF Entrance Exam 2020 from the official website. Answer key are uploaded after 3 days of the exam.
