Walk-in-interview 

Eligible candidates may appear in Walk-in-interview for the positions of JRF/ Young Professional-II/ Contractual in the DBT funded projects as follows-


DBT-CoEIB Project “Integration of plant and parasite omics to decipher the interactions and identify molecular targets for the management of rootknot disease of rice” 

JRF (02 positions)

Rs.25000/- + 30% HRA 25 th June 2018 

Essential: Master’s degree in Genetics/ Plant Breeding/ Genetics and Plant Breeding/ Botany/ Zoology/ Biotechnology/ Life Science/ Nematology with 4 or 5 years Bachelor’s degree with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average in Bachelors and Masters degrees. Those with 3 years bachelor’s degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification or equivalent or Ph.D. in any of above disciplines (As per ICAR memorandum F.No. Agri. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 13.07.2015 and F.No. Agri. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 09.10.2015) 

Desirable: Experience in handling rice crop, mapping populations, molecular markers, basic molecular biology techniques 

Young Professional II (01 position) 

Rs. 25,000.00 (Consolidated) (As per ICAR F. No.17 (1)/2013-Estt. IV Dated 12/08/2013) 25th June 2018 

Essential: Master's Degree in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Bioinformatics or Botany. 

Desirable : At least two years of research experience in any of above mentioned discipline with experience in bioinformatics 


DBT-Indo Swiss Collaboration in Biotechnology Pigeon Pea Network “Improvement of Pigeon pea for plant type, early maturity, pod borer resistance and moisture stress tolerance” 

JRF (01 position) 

Rs.25000/- + 30% HRA 25th June 2018 

Essential: M.Sc./M.Tech. / Post Graduation in Bioinformatics with 4 or 5 years Bachelor’s degree with 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent overall grade point average in Bachelors and Masters degrees. Those with 3 years bachelor’s degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification or equivalent or Ph.D. in any of above disciplines as per ICAR memorandum F.No.Agri.Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 13.07.2015 and F.No. Agri.Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 09.10.2015) 

Desirable: Good Knowledge of genomics and proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems, Linux directory control commands, Awk-Shell scripting string commands, Perl / Python programing, R-Bio programing and working on the R workspace, hands on experience in Next-Generation sequencing data analysis pertaining to assembly, alignment, Expression analysis, Pathway and Ontology based annotation and data representation and visualization 

The Interview of eligible candidates will be held in the Room No 306, Division of Nematology, ICAR-IARI, PUSA Campus, New Delhi. Eligible candidates may come for the walk-in-interview on 25 th June, 2018 at 9.00 AM with two copies of their bio-data, two passport size photographs and one set of attested copies of their certificates/marksheets/experience proof. Please bring original certificates for verification at the time of interview.
