Dr. Akash Gautam is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Centre for Neural and Cognitive Science under the School of Medical Science at University of Hyderabad.

Dr. Akash Gautam obtained his Ph.D. in Zoology (Neurobiology) from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
He did his masters in M.Sc. in Zoology (Biochemistry & Molecular Biology) from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
His Research Interest falls on 

  • Neurobiology of Learning and Memory
  • Neuropharmacology and 
  • Brain ageing

He has qualified Junior Research Fellowship-National Eligibility Test in Life Sciences (December 2007) organized by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, New Delhi. He has also qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering in Life Sciences (2008) organized by Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore.
 

Second Session: Impact of Immune Cells on Neurodegeneration

Second Session starts at 06:00PM and is expected to be over by 06:45PM.

Dr. Debashis Dutta, PhD

Chicago, USA

Dr. Debashis Dutta is currently working as a research scientist in the Department of Neurological Sciences in Rush University Medical Centre at Chicago, USA.

Dr. Debashis Dutta obtained his PhD in Biochemistry from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology. He did his masters in MSc Microbiology from Calcutta University.


He his expert in Skills:

  • Creating animal models of Parkinson's disease, Taupathy and Huntington's disease (Toxin-induced and transgenic)
  • Small animal brain surgery (Stereotaxy)
  • Stereology (Neuronal counting)
  • Behavioral experiments (Motor behaviour and memory tests using Noldus)
  • Immunohistochemistry and so on.


He is a recipient of several Awards and Fellowships such as

  • Outstanding reviewer award from 'Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy', 2018.
  • AMA PRA Category 1 Credit for reviewing journal article from Lippincott Continuing Medical Education Institute, 2018 and 2019.
  • Postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Kalipada Pahan's laboratory, Rush University Medical Center, 2016.
  • Best oral presentation in young investigator forum in Neuroscience, Neuroupdate, India, 2014.
  • Best oral presentation in Cell Biology and Physiology meeting at CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, India, 2012.
  • Best poster award in Neuroscience in Society of Biological Chemistry (SBC), India, 2012.
  • CSIR-UGC NET (CSIR-junior research fellowship in Dec, 2008 and UGC-junior research fellowship in June, 2010) conducted by UGC-CSIR, Govt. of India.
